This course will use the 6th edition of the APA Manual (2009), but note that reference format from the newest 7th edition (2019) will also be acceptable. Many APA resources (e.g., Purdue OWL) are still updating APA formatting to the 7th edition.

The following examples provide reference information and corresponding in-text citation information for common source types and situations you are likely to encounter while working with your sources.
In October 2019, the American Psychological Association (APA) introduced the 7th edition of the APA Publication Manual, which replaces the 6th edition published in 2009.
