Community Faculty Resources: Current Awareness

What is "Current Awareness"?

"Current awareness" is a term that refers to the process of "staying current" in a subject that interests you.

Who can benefit from using current awareness tools?

  • Students working on a long-term research project or who are interesting in following developments in an area that interests them.

  • Faculty members who are engaged in research or who want to stay informed as new information emerges in their field.

There are several "boats"  available to help you stay afloat in the sea of new information.  These include tables of contents services, RSS feeds, search saving and social bookmarking.
