Historical Research: Understand the Assignment

This guide highlights library resources that can be used to do research

Understand the Assignment

Before you do any research you need to understand what the assignment is, and what your professor expects.  At a bare minimum, make sure that you know:

  • what citation style do you need to use for citations?
  • are there any sources that you can't use?
  • are there any sources that you have to use?
  • is there a minimum length?
  • when is it due?

Need Help?

Are your searches not giving you the results that you were expecting?  Are you having difficulty figuring out what you should be searching for, or which database would be good for your topic? Please, feel free to come to the Library Services Desk at the library and we will be more than happy to help you with your research.

If you would like to ask for assistance virtually, you can go to https://library.campbell.edu/ask/.
